The Forum, Bath
The Forum is a listed, landmark Art Deco building in the centre of Bath, owned by Bath Christian Trust. As a charitable organisation they must adhere to rigid budgets. SRA had worked on the original renovation, which had delighted the stakeholders and facilitated the church’s vision to meet congregational and community needs. This time, the client needed a major refurbishment to modernise facilities and make the venue accessible for those with disabilities.
Preserving the building’s heritage and status, we dramatically enhanced its functionality. To begin with we ensured the entrance, concert space and toilets were fully wheelchair accessible. Next, we incorporated new catering facilities and refurbished the offices to create a healthier, more modern working environment.
This iconic 1930s building is now even better suited to serve its local community. Yet it has lost none of its glamour and old-world charm.
