Bentley’s new 20,000 sqft research and development facility needed to combine production and research facilities. Central to the brief was to make communication between their designers and engineers more efficient. So we designed a grand central space, forming the building’s ‘spine’ where departments could interact.
This strong, central element elegantly references the iconic curves of the Bentley profile and sets the tone for the rest of the site. It also provides an opportunity to showcase the brand to visitors, with the manufacturing and design processes clearly visible at specific points.
SRA planned the building to allow for future expansion, either to the design or production sides. This flexibility added extra sustainability to the site even as the Bentley business evolves.
