IKEA
IKEA is a household name, instantly recognisable and famous for their simple yet sophisticated product range. However, they are also a complex and highly commercial client who seeks best value and minimal waste in all aspects of project delivery.
SRA have undertaken a wide range of projects over the course of their long relationship with IKEA. As well as new stores, this includes several recent refurbishment projects, which seek to refresh the external appearance and customer experience of some of established stores.
IKEA continually assess their building portfolio to ensure it meets the needs of their customers. SRA worked with IKEA to incorporate a new Click & Collect facility at their Exeter store as well as adapt a warehouse unit in Dartford, to provide a facility for direct distribution to customers from online purchases. SRA are currently involved in the refurbishment of a former department store in Brighton to provide an exciting new city centre store development.
Uniquely, IKEA assess each of their stores against global benchmarking, ensuring that best practices are maintained across all projects. All aspects of the store delivery are reviewed, including quality of finish, duration of build programme, cost/m2, store operating costs, energy consumption and retail turnover.
As part of this global benchmarking process, the programme is always optimised to ensure sufficient time is given for delivery, without delaying the opening date. Therefore all non-construction related activities, including retail fit out, recruitment, PR strategy, stock orders and store funding, are planned accordingly, placing increased significance on completing the project on time.
Our collaboration with IKEA, has over time, built a culture of continuous learning and improvement, refining solutions specific to each individual project. We bring innovation solutions to each unique challenge, and always aim to exceed expectations in the speed of delivery.
