Italy’s architecture never ceases to inspire

You can take the designer out of the studio but you can’t take the hunt for design inspiration out of the designer.

On a recent trip to Tuscany, SRA team member Emily Giles enjoyed exploring some of Italy’s grand Renaissance-era cities.

Architecture, travel, photography and soaking up the sun are some of my favourite pastimes; Tuscany checks all of these boxes.

The Italian region is a photographer’s dream, from navigating the tiny winding streets of Sienna, to climbing the 463 steps to the top of Florence’s Cathedral. The view of the city from the top was definitely worth the effort.

The trip provided ample creative inspiration and I shall now enjoy seeking ways to apply it to our designs, particularly to interior spaces.
